Human Resources Business Manager - Nordics
Oslo and Lillestrøm, Norway

The position is based in Oslo and Lillestrøm and you will be part of the leadership team in Norway. You will contribute to our company’s success by providing professional HR leadership and support to Thermo Fisher Scientific employees and Managers in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland for the Life Science Solutions Group part of Thermo Fisher. We are looking for a person who can see across many areas and can understand the dynamics of our business and possess the financial acumen to assess and communicate how HR strategies impact the Company strategy. With your confident, independent and engaging manner you will navigate well in our complex matrix structure and advise and lead colleagues in an effective and inspiring way.

Your key responsibilities:
  • Alignment of HR processes with business/site strategic and operating goals
  • Guiding and coaches employees and managers regarding employee relations issues to conclusion in line with company policies and procedures
  • Driving a One Thermo Fisher company culture by being an advocate for employees while achieving a balance with all levels of company goals
  • Provide coaching and feedback to managers on talent management activities including performance management, training and development, organisational capability assessment, strategy and planning.
  • Partner with HR Centre’s of Expertise (COE) to facilitate annual calibration and compensation planning processes, prepare for talent reviews, and provide development opportunities at each site
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition COE to drive recruitment strategies and processes including review and approval of requisitions, participation on interview panels and execution of the new employee on-boarding activities
  • Partner with COE’s and Business HR leads to develop and implement change initiatives within your sites to drive organisational alignment and effective human resource utilisation
  • Cooperate with trade unions, lead negotiations
  • Drive employee engagement by analyzing trends and developing site-specific engagement strategies together with managers
  • Manage employee relations across sites to enhance workforce performance and productivity. Identify and address people and organizational risk. Conduct organization health assessments.

  • Has strong coaching skills
  • Communicates clearly and openly
  • Is happy with travelling up to 20% of the time
We believe you have the following experience/qualifications:
  • Several year of progressive leadership experience within Human Resources
  • Proven strong performance within a matrix organisation
  • Experience of working within a HR Ulrich Model Structure
  • Experience from being an influential part of a business management team that provides company leadership and direction, preferably in an international environment
  • Strong knowledge and experience in employment law, tariff agreements and union negotiations, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, and training and development
  • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs
  • Fluent in English in addition to Norwegian
