The Director, Digital Product Management, Scientific Acceleration directs, coordinates, and manages multiple products and programs, providing direction to matrix staff across the enterprise for the purpose of product/program/initiative implementation. This role is positioned as an authority on the strategy and development of complex enterprise applications and successfully bringing them to market. This includes roadmap development and delivery, competitive positioning/differentiation and competitive tracking of the products in the marketplace globally.

Responsibilities:

  • Define a portfolio vision and strategy across multiple product areas that supports the development of digital tools, applications, and features with a goal of enabling our customers to accelerate scientific progress
  • Ensure that the portfolio strategy aligns with the overall business goals, meet customer needs, and contribute to meeting key performance indicators
  • Manages a team of product managers in the development of product roadmaps that align with stakeholder expectations and resource availability
  • Actively seeks out and engages relevant external partners that can extend Thermo Fisher Scientific’s capabilities and accelerate the delivery of the portfolio roadmap
  • Engages external corporate customers and end users to understand their needs and how they can best be served through product capabilities
  • Monitors market, competitive, and technology trends and capabilities to shape strategy and roadmaps
  • Engage with stakeholders to develop business justification and obtain necessary buy-in and approval to move efforts forward
  • Presents strategy, roadmaps, QBR, and status updates to leadership on regular basis
  • Works with other internal groups to bring product roadmap to life including UX, content, engineering, QA, analytics, legal, business units, marketing and others
  • Establish functional KPIs and monitor on regular basis to determine direction and provide justification for proposed efforts as well as to report results of previous efforts
  • Develop capabilities across channels (desktop, mobile, tablet, etc), platforms, and regional sites

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10 years of product management experience within an ecommerce and/or life sciences environment
  • Proven track record of managing complex senior Strategic Digital and/or Life Science Products
  • 5 years of experience developing product strategy and roadmaps
  • 5 years of experience managing team/s of product managers
  • Ability to effectively engage across organizational levels from executives to technical teams
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills that is effective with both corporate executives as well as execution teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Product management experience within Life Sciences or similar environment
  • Experience working on global products that have regional considerations
  • Experience developing products across desktop, mobile, kiosk, and other devices
  • Experience working within Agile methodologies
  • Experience working within SAFe framework highly preferred
