The Materials and Minerals team provides high quality analytical, product inspection and compliancy solutions along with bulk material handling equipment for industrial customers in cement, metals, minerals, coal, food, electronics, semiconductors and research scientists in materials science.
For our site in Parma, w
e are now looking for a Buyer to be part of our Sourcing and Purchasing team of three procurement professionals.

Job Summary:

Maintain a high quality of service to internal and external customers by assuring uninterrupted supply of materials to meet production and customer demand. This includes supplier selection and order placement and management, with emphasis on cost and lead time reduction. Manage suppliers to ensure product quality, delivery and cost requirements are met.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and recommend new sources of supply that provide maximum value by delivering quality goods on time and at a low cost.
  • Establish and maintain rapport and business association with suppliers and potential suppliers through interviews and supplier visits.
  • Responsible for daily supplier management from tactical day-to-day ordering, to performance reporting and corrective action as required - Negotiate quality, price, and availability.
  • Prepare and manage RFP/RFQ process.
  • Manage ERP data, payment terms.
  • Analyze key spending trends, cost drivers, market factors and geographic considerations in order to drive implementation of appropriate sourcing strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects and initiatives in overall supply costs, service levels and quality conform to the guidelines.
  • Manage inquiry, approval matrix, and supplier performance to optimize total hit rates
  • Periodically evaluate suppliers’ performance and corrective improvement actions to enhance sourcing quality and efficiency;
  • Represent the company in negotiating contracts and applying company’s sourcing policies with suppliers
  • Continuously drive supplier productivity, quality and services to improve supplier performance and meet the needs of business
  • Support and participate in Lean Initiatives through process performance improvements as a way of working.
Requirements:
  • More than 3 years of working experience in purchasing in manufacturing industry. Experience in mechanical industry a benefit.
  • Working experience in working with international suppliers
  • Good negotiation and communication skills
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Experience in using MS office programs as well as ERP systems
  • Independent decision making capability and flexibility even under high pressure situations
  • Good team working skills
