Job Description

SCS Value Stream Operations

Manage the Value Stream Staff to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and foster a safe & environmentally aware workplace.

Manage the Value Stream Staff to incorporate Quality & EHS into each operation and ensure that all changes are reviewed and controlled.

Manage the Value Stream Staff to understand/interpret who our customers are, what are their needs and our own business requirements to create strategies and annual plans. These will typically involve: stock holding, costs, standard operating procedures, stock availability & LOTC etc. Ensure the annual plans are achieved.

Manage the concept of a Value Stream to create a unity of purpose across the staff: from receipt of goods to the value stream, to stock to point of use.

Drive Lean improvements in the Value Stream, identifying opportunities for improvement, developing plans and implementing within agreed timescales.

Promote the introduction of new techniques and working practices to best meet business requirements.

Drive PPI Improvements through the value stream & achieve annual PPI Goals

Create annual plans of costs, labour needs, capital investment etc Control budgets and costs across the Value Stream.

Where appropriate, advise on technology, chemistry, processing, material handling and development etc.

Manage and control departmental expenditure (including AOPs and Capital) within agreed budgets.

Working alongside the NPI co-ordinator, assist in bringing new processes in to production aligned to agreed timescales.

Assist the development of the infrastructure; recommend, devise, help design modifications or new investments of equipment and systems to improve the efficiency of the manufacturing operation. Manage the waste operation in compliance with the operating Plan and license conditions. Provide evidence of continuing Company compliance and staff environmental performance in line with ISO14001 standards.

Manage the costs, staff & operational issues, capacity planning & performance.

Other Tasks

5S: Create annual plan, roll out zones/teams and monitor progress/results

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

To hold extensive experience & knowledge of EHS, logistics, chemistry, technology and to demonstrate the following

Management experience Good planning and budget skills Proficient in EHS management systems Application of ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 in chemical industry Good organizational skills & time management skills in a multi discipline role An understanding of Lean is required, demonstrable experience of delivering Lean Initiatives & achieving Continuous Improvement targets is desirable.
