Position Summary:

This position plays a key role in providing both strategic and tactical human resources support for different business units in Thermo Fisher Scientific Taiwan. As a critical member of the HR team, you will assist with delivering the people and culture agenda which is to ensure effective deployment of our core HR processes, talent development, leadership development and building talent capabilities at all levels. Based on a deep understanding of business objectives, customer needs and the competitive landscape, you will become a trusted advisor for both managers and employees in Taiwan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively supports the delivery of HR processes.
  • Build a strong business relationship with internal clients and actively identify gaps, propose and implement necessary changes.
  • Coach managerial staff on interpretation and application of relevant HR laws, policies, procedures and programs.
  • Participate in company-wide initiatives including but not limited to salary review, workforce planning, organizational change, on-boarding, job analysis, new hire and exit processes, selection, performance reviews as well as diversity and leadership programs.
  • Work closely with management in the implementation of corporate policies related to human resources and employee development.
  • Recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
  • Recommend new approaches, corrective actions, and updates to policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. Assist with the administration and implementation of the same.
  • Interact with other departments to revise and improve internal processes and procedures.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources or business related field required.
  • 5+ years of related experience in a HR generalist role within a complex, global organization.
  • Fluent command of English and Chinese, both written and spoken.
  • Must have previous experience in coaching, influencing, facilitation, process development, analysis and problem solving.
  • Effective in working with peers, business partners, and other colleagues – embracing different people and cultures to positively impact business performance and foster strong team work and inclusion.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills are essential.
  • Must model the highest degree of moral and ethical behavior.
  • Proactive and takes ownership for producing positive results.
  • Keeps commitments; exhibits candor and courage - is not afraid to establish a visible presence and point of view, to engage in spirited and constructive debate, to hold others accountable.
  • Must have ability to travel to local sites weekly.
  • May be asked to travel domestically and internationally as needed
