Job Description

Position Summary:

The ServiceNow Developer is a self-starter who documents, designs, and codes updates to all areas of the platform including: Incident, Change, Problem, Request, CMDB, Discovery, and Service Portal. The Developer is keen to seek out new solutions and is able to work in a global, cross-functional team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designs and implements Information Technology Service Management processes in ServiceNow, including but not limited to Incident Management, Problem Management, Request Management, Change Management, Configuration Management, Service Portal, and ITOM

  • Design, Development and Implementation of ServiceNow including, but not limited to: core setup, workflow administration, reporting, data imports, LDAP integration, custom scripting and third party software integrations

  • Performs advanced configurations including Business Rules, UI Pages, UI Macros, UI Scripts, Script Includes, ACLs, Client Scripts, workflows, custom tables, reports, etc.

  • Reviews proposed designs with platform owner, architect, and development lead to ensure adherence to technical design guidelines

  • Attends daily scrum calls and provides updates, escalates road-blocks and issues, and asks questions

  • Performs peer review of code prior to functional testing

  • Stays current on ServiceNow products and applicable integrated technologies.

  • Works closely with ServiceNow functional team to configure and improve core and custom applications

  • Develops new systems integrations and process automation

  • Contributes to application and platform upgrades

  • Responsible for on-call application support

  • Load, Modify, and maintain data between ServiceNow and other platforms

  • Create ServiceNow reports and dashboards

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Project Management or Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience acceptable

  • ITIL Foundations V3 certification desired

  • ServiceNow Administrator Certification desired

  • Certified ServiceNow Developer Certification desired

  • Certified ServiceNow Implementation Specialist Certification desired

  • 2+ years working in ServiceNow Environment

  • 3+ years’ experience developing in: PHP, Java, Python, Ruby, .Net, or Perl

  • Scripting (JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML, CSS, Jelly) and Rest API experience preferred

  • Ability to translate details into specific tasks needed to accomplish a task or solve a problem

  • Ability to problem solve and work well in complex, ambiguous situations

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts

  • Proven ability to navigate the technology environment and work effectively with multiple groups
