Position Summary:
The Manager, Global Market Development will report directly to the Business Unit’s Director, Global Market Development to drive marketing effectiveness for Life Science Portfolio. This individual will create and regionalize marketing campaigns and support strategic initiatives including awareness, differentiated chemistries, innovation, and sales initiatives for the portfolio to deliver measurable sales growth via a multichannel approach.
This role requires collaboration and matrix management skills to work with the regional market development teams, commercial teams, the channel teams and functional leaders to achieve annual business unit revenue goals.
Specific duties include:

  • Channel Intelligence: Develops an in-depth understanding of the customers within Life Science market (e.g. customer needs, response to marketing, trends, and new developments through direct engagement of customers, field sales reps in all regions to develop effective go to market campaigns).
  • Market Intelligence: Provides input to the Life Science Product Management on pricing and portfolio strategy based on regional requirements
  • Campaign Strategy: Owns the Business Unit’s campaign goals and objectives, reviews and optimizes programs to achieve adoption and deliver meaningful results. Collaborates with product management team and commercial leadership to tailor product strategy to the region including segmentation, targeting and positioning in order to prioritize and coordinate regional marketing programs
  • Marketing Channel Strategy: Creates and manages the customer channel (make specific for channel) product portfolio marketing plan, promotional calendar, events calendar, programs and sales tools, including catalogs, brochures, advertising, direct mail, printing, customer events and trade shows, etc. Leverage customer insights to develop marketing initiatives, align key stakeholders, work with MPMs to create campaigns/programs/projects applying MARS architecture
  • Marketing Channel Tactics: Coordinates execution through commercial teams, business unit and divisional support functions (MPM, MOPs, DPM, DCM). Develop and optimize tactical approaches to deliver the most effective campaigns within market segments via channel specific initiatives to achieve targeted sales and profit. Work closely with regional marketing where dedicated team exists to build and execute marketing programs within their regions.
  • Marketing Channel Support: Works with sales channel(s) to develop and implement promotional and support programs across the product portfolio in their region including creation, publication and management of literature to support key strategies and programs.
  • Training Develops sales force training and customer education material in collaboration with product management, R&D and commercial teams.
  • business/marketing: Collaborate with business/marketing division team to manage the web channels via front and back end content marketing, database development and maintenance to drive positive user experiences for navigation, content and commerce
  • Metrics/Analytics: Collects, analyzes and reports metrics for executed campaign activities. Determines the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and channels thru KPI management and ROI marketing metrics. Redirects tactics based on analytics of gain/loss of market share and competitor financials/performance.
  • Budget: Manages tracking of budget and spend for campaign and tactical execution.
  • Other Duties: Projects maybe assigned at the discretion of the Director, Global Market Development
  • Ethics: Effectively performs duties whilst acting at all times in accordance with the Dignity at Work Policy, Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and our values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and Involvement
  • Process Improvement: Embraces and participates in PPI initiatives to identify improvements and cost savings to the business
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Education:
  • BS in Marketing, Biology or other related discipline
Functional Skills
  • Mastery of knowledge and leadership in the following key competencies: 4Ps and marketing mix, marketing communication, communication channels, customer segmentation, value proposition and marketing program development and execution.
  • Biology education or at least 3 years of experience in life science applications
  • 5+ years’ experience in developing creative marketing campaigns that capture new customers and drive sales growth
  • Experience in launching marketing programs and new products to internal sales team and channel partners
  • Experience in developing and managing online marketing campaigns including monthly email blasts, website content, social media programs, and other industry related web sites.
  • Ability to lead development of marketing collateral
    • Coordinate gathering of technical content
    • Partnering with product management team in order to guide the creative team through the development of marketing tools
    • Experience Coordinating trade shows and events
  • Management and preparation of Sales/Commercial Meetings
  • Management of promotional redemptions and marketing campaign tracking
General Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator is a plus; effective compositional skills
  • Outstanding project management skills
