We are a research, development and production site in Bremen, currently with about 360 employees, whose “high -end” measurement and analysis instruments (mass spectrometers) are used in research and science worldwide. Our innovative products in the fields of Life Sciences MS and Inorganic MS as well as trace analysis are among the leading products globally in their respective markets.

For our Bremen site we are looking for a


Product Specialist Software for Inorganic Mass Spectrometry (f/m)

Thermo Fisher Scientific is driving software development for analytical instrumentation with the commitment to create a new comprehensive Platform for Science. In order to support this effort we are aiming to hire a position for a product specialist software. Qtegra is the software platform which drives the Thermo Fisher Scientific product portfolio for Inorganic Mass Spectrometery (IOMS).

Major Responsibilities:
  • Closely work with the Product Manager Software in IOMS
  • Capture independently software requirements and user stories in close collaboration with the IOMS Product and Application Manager
  • Develop software verification and validation test plans
  • Verify and validate software code by running systematic application tests on the scientific instruments
  • Give feedback to the software development team with respect to bug fixes and implemented software features
  • Independent Management of software beta test customers
  • Documentation of the software verification and validation as part of the software release procedure
  • Organisation and operational implementation of customer training courses related to software.
  • Planning of marketing initiatives for Qtegra

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
  • Scientific background as a user of analytical instrumentation, ideally related to isotope ratio analysis instrumentation.
  • 3 - 5 years of professional experience
  • Basic knowledge about software development using SCRUM methods would be advantageous
  • Documentation skills
  • Open communication style and team play.
  • Interest in modern software trends related to digital concepts.
  • Good English communication skills
