Job Title: Inside Sales Representative Digital Science - EMEA
Reports To: Director of Sales
Group/Division: Digital Science
Career Band: 6
Location: Altrincham, UK or Breda, NL offices - with flexibility for partial home working


Position Summary:
The Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for the discovery and nurturing of new leads for the Digital Science product portfolio within the assigned territory, meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual sales quotas. Additional the role will have responsibility for the complete end to end management of the RFx process.

The Inside Sales Representative will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead generation to build the Digital Science pipeline across the assigned territory
  • Sourcing new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails
  • Routing qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure
  • Lead nurturing via the presentation of marketing materials and technical information to potential clients. Managing leads to the opportunity stage driving the transition from the inside sales office to the appropriate account manager. Detailed mapping of accounts to identify key stakeholders decision makers and influencers.
  • Identify and attend appropriate lead generation events such as seminars, workshops and exhibitions
  • Team with existing channel partners to assist them in building pipeline
  • On board new channel partners
  • Research and document the competitive landscape within each country across the region
  • Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Information (RFI) process from qualification, completion and through to submission. The Inside Sales Representative will identify and manage the appropriate Thermo Fisher personnel required to author the response throughout the submission period
  • Creation of financial reports
  • Maintain and continually build the territory reference database and case studies
  • Act as custodian for the sales QMS process ensuring compliance in the annual audit
  • New business appointment generation for territory account managers
  • Prospect event management
  • Creation of training quotations
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:
  • At minimum degree in a scientific discipline or business related discipline.
  • Multi-lingual – must be fluent in English and at least two other European languages (French, German, Dutch and Spanish are desirable)
  • Highly-motivated with a winning attitude, thrives in a team environment.
  • Deep understanding of customer needs and requirements in a scientific environment.
  • Proficient in making cold calls, working with channel partners, generating interest, qualifying prospects. A strong phone presence is required
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize responsibilities according to business requirements
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong listening and presentation skills
