Job Description

This is a fast paced position that provides critical service to law enforcement, military and municipal firefighting teams, as well as industrial customers.

The successful candidate will perform troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance/testing, and calibrations on a wide range of equipment including Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), Thermal Imaging Cameras, and Gas Detection Instrumentation. Additional duties will include hydro testing SCBA cylinders and providing installation review and training for air compressors.

Work is performed in the service center and on location at customer facilities which requires overnight travel upon customer demand. The Service Technician is expected to prioritize activities to optimize customer satisfaction and operational performance (turnaround time, inventory levels, and productivity).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs troubleshooting and repair of module- and component-level repairs on SCBAs
  • Conduct routine tests such as: hydrostatic testing, flow testing, and fit testing.
  • Prioritize workflow to optimize customer satisfaction and financial performance.
  • Implement process improvements in order to continually improve delivery, cost, and quality.
  • Acts in a professional, customer-focused manner during all customer interactions.
  • Regularly communicate with management about operations and activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience in a service/repair operation.
  • Experience in a customer facing role.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel between 40-50% locally, but could be higher during periods of increased customer demand.
  • The physical requirements of this position include lifting weights of up to 45 pounds on a routine basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior field service experience.
  • Experience in servicing Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBAs).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and resourceful in a dynamic and fast paced work environment.
  • Must be able to work without direct supervision.
  • Gas Detection Instrumentation repair and calibration experience.
