Job Description

The Manager, Internal Communications, is part of a team of communications professionals committed to the creation and delivery of successful, progressive communication strategies that engage, inform and inspire our employees around the world. This talented and innovative leader is responsible for planning, developing and executing company-wide employee communications programs, as well as serving as a trusted communications adviser to leaders across the company. A key focus of this job is to support executive and change communications. The position requires an individual with outstanding written and verbal communications skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively engage with senior leadership, work in a faced-paced environment, and take initiative to move communications initiatives forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review employee communications from Division and Group leadership, ensuring quality, consistency and alignment of messaging and style across company
  • Review internal organizational announcements, working with HR community and communications business partners to ensure quality and consistency
  • Support communications needs of Company Leadership Team
  • Support communications related to change management projects, including footprint optimization, business and functional restructuring, and crisis communications as needed
  • Support employee communications process during quarterly earnings announcements
  • Assist with gathering and preparing materials needed for CEO town halls, and manage process for compiling and analyzing results from the town hall surveys
  • Manage communications resource sites on company intranet, refining templates and other tools as needed and keeping content up to date
  • Assist with other employee communications projects as required
  • Keep abreast of best practices for employee/executive communications

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • BA/BS, preferably with courses in communications, journalism or English
  • Broad general knowledge of our business sector (life sciences, analytical instruments, laboratories)
  • At least 10 years of experience as a communicator in a business environment, preferably in our industry sector
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Flexible, creative, innovative, pro-active thinker and doer
  • Passion for the job and for learning new skills
  • Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of MS Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) as well as Acrobat Writer
  • Experience with digital video is a plus
  • Ability to use innovative communications channels/tools and think outside the box in communicating with diverse audiences
