Job Description

The Position

The Sales and Service Operations Group provides superior customer service to all internal and external customers by assuring clean sales order processing, tracking, and communications out to the account team and Thermo Fisher Scientific's customers. Success comes as a combination of outstanding communication, excellent knowledge of complex Thermo Fisher Scientific's policies and procedures, and a general understanding of Thermo Fisher Scientific's tools and product divisions.

Specific deliverables of this position include:

- Accurately processes system and part orders and requests, including but not limited price determination, accurate cost and revenue account reflection, regular follow up with account managers and factory operations to ensure the customer's needs are met successfully and promptly

- Participates in improvement initiatives within sales and service and across functional areas of core integration

- Prepares accurate pricing of parts and systems and returns based on Thermo Fisher Scientific published rates and/or special customer discounts, part type category

- Ensures accurate cost and revenue account are associated with each order, which requires solid understanding of Thermo Fisher Scientific's sales and service accounting structure

- Works with traffic departments in all factories to determine shipping method based on numerous factors including part size and weight, contractual agreements with the customer, and preferred carrier

- Acts as customer liaison with Accounts Receivable to determine billing issues and find resolution

- Maintains records regarding customer returns, deliveries, changes, pricing, and return credit problems

- Issues quotes for parts sales and system sales as requested by customers and account managers

- Maintains professionalism in working relationships with team, customers and others within the company

- Ensures all areas of personal responsibility are handled promptly, accurately, and with outstanding customer service.

- Ensures proper backups are in place when not in office, and escalate issues when necessary to enable the best result for the customer

The Requirements

- Typically requires a University degree and 2 to 5 years of experience in sales/service order administration or similar environment

- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written English, other languages an asset but not required

- Moderate excel, word, and access database skills, ERP experience is preferred

- Requires outstanding problem solving, follow-through, attention to detail and organizational skills

- Ability to multi-task in an extremely fast paced environment

- Excellent typing, 10-key speed and accuracy rate

- Ability to maintain professionalism and courtesy under pressure
