Provides leadership and business knowledge within Site Logistics to support production activities while maintaining a safe workplace and strict adherence to all aspects of regulatory compliance. Provides leadership, communication and facilitate teamwork within the warehouse operations group. Supports group operating goals in support of departmental and corporate objectives.
Provides supervision, leadership and direction to warehouse operations staff in immediate area is responsibility. Performs as a back-up for warehouse supervisor as and when required.
Maintains accurate inventory in SAP in accordance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s) while issuing / shipping materials as required. Ensures inventory accuracy is maximized at all times. Assists with physical inventory of the warehouse as required. Leads in troubleshooting inventory and order problems.
Ensures all controlled substances are handled according to procedures. Ensures all hazardous materials are handled safely per regulations and procedures.
Leads the training of employees in all warehouse functionality. Serves as a mentor for new employees. Functions as a material handler, fork truck driver as needed.
Assists with or leads internal and external audits of warehouse. Completes GEMBA walks/safety reviews with departmental leadership, support the RCCA methodology for issues identified.
Acts as liaison with internal and external customers schedule and manage freight/logistics companies for deliveries/shipments.
Manages deviations using TrackWise. Ensures all time lines are met individual and by team members to ensure maximum customer service.
Manages functions costs through correct control of OT, waste reduction, and participate fully in an/all CI initiatives.
Provides tactical direction and immediate supervision to a group of employees by assigning tasks, checking work, and maintaining schedules.
Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results will add to costs and may impact the short-term goals of the company. Manages the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results.
High School dipolma or equivalent is required. Associates degree in Business, Operations, or Logistics is preferred.
Five years of experience in warehouse/manufacturing operations or supply chain management is required.
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
SAP Inventory Management and Warehouse Management experience. Ability to operate forklifts and mechanical material handling equipment. Interpersonal/customer service; decision-making; negotiation/persuasiveness; and problem solving. Forklift license required. Excellent skills in: verbal and written communication; planning and organizing. Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills. Self-starter, mature, independent and dependable. Ability to work in a fast paced environment under pressure, able to multi-task and is results-oriented. Effective time management and prioritization skills. Requires discretion and independent judgment.
Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of medium to heavy weights of 25-50 pounds and occasionally pushing and pulling 100+ pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and type for prolonged periods of time; visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.
