Job Description – Hyperion Planning Technical Architect

The Hyperion Planning Technical Architect is responsible for the design, maintenance, optimization and improvement of applications in Hyperion Planning, FDM and ODI for the Life Sciences Solutions Group (LSG). The Hyperion Architect works closely with global business partners and project teams to develop and implement systems solutions in Hyperion Planning and integrate solutions with other systems. The Hyperion Architect position will report to the Sr. Manager Hyperion Planning and will be responsible to identify opportunities for improvements in systems applications and integrations with other systems, including increasing the level of automation, decreasing the processing time and increasing the level of accuracy and granularity of data. The Hyperion Architect must have excellent communication skills to interact with business partners and excellent technical skills to work independently in developing systems solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain functionality and processing of all Hyperion Planning applications, FDM mapping and ODI management, including development and improvement of calculation scripts, load rules, web forms, batch scripts and metadata support
  • Improve and optimize Hyperion Planning applications, including increasing level of automation, decreasing processing time and increasing level of accuracy and granularity of data
  • Collaborating with project teams and systems end users to gather application requirements and implement new systems initiatives
  • Identify opportunities and develop new Hyperion applications based on customer requirements
  • Hyperion training support to functional groups and business units
  • Support data integrity between LSG systems and Corporate systems
  • Systems/technical process documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience in financial reporting systems in an FP&A setting
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with Hyperion Planning, Essbase, FDM and ODI is required
  • Demonstrated ability to understand needs of internal customers and the ability to effectively communicate with internal customers and project teams
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of personnel including senior management
  • Experience working in a large global public company with matrix structure, supporting global stakeholders and a large end-user community base
  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management, Data Warehouse (COGNOS), SAP, Enterprise One and relational databases are considered an advantage
  • Project management experience and exposure to PPI/Kaizen methodologies are considered an advantage
