How Will You Make an Impact?

Provide leadership and direction to the operational purchasing groups to rationalize and leverage the vendor base for the assigned category: Packaging.
Will use appropriate negotiating and sourcing techniques to ensure vendors provide optimal category savings, quality and on-time delivery.

What will you do?

  • Work with a global team to support sites in North America
  • Serve as a Project Manager though the entire product sourcing and implementation process.
  • Support and promote the internal Pharmaceutical Services business groups with supplier / supply chain rationale and direction
  • Establish, deploy and monitor operational supplier metrics to deliver objective “Supplier Relationship Management,”
  • Rationalize and leverage the vendor base on a category basis, measure and improve "compliance" to the corporate contracts.
  • Partner with key internal functions (e.g., Engineering, CMO, PDS, Legal) to ensure supplier performance and vendor management criteria are meeting the full needs of the business.
  • Oversee and / or directly manage supplier quality issues and disputes.
  • Establish and manage senior executive relationships within the category supply base
  • Actively participate in the work team of developing multi-year strategies and business plans for respective categories, supported by executable initiatives that deliver results in line with short- and long-term goals.
  • Effectively drive results in a fast-paced and rapidly growing company.
  • Align external supplier partners and cross-functional internal teams to advance key business drivers, such as supply continuity, quality, cost and operational performance.
  • Review suppliers’ performance against predetermined metrics and lead activities to improve results.
  • Act as a change agent to drive improvements
  • Identify new savings opportunities, best practices, and innovative approaches to problem solving.

How will you get there?


Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field.

Experience

  • Two to three years’ experience within a manufacturing organization
  • Pharmaceutical experience a plus
  • Experience with sourcing of direct materials
  • Ability to create business case for new suppliers
  • Exceptional analytical, financial modeling and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain standards of accuracy under tight deadlines
  • Strong proficiency in MS-Office tools (specifically, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Work independently, within a team, and collaboratively across teams
  • Able to manage change effectively and frequently
  • Ability to travel up to 25% on an annual basis.
