We are seeking a passionate public relations professional to help develop and drive global and integrated communications campaigns in its Materials and Structural Analysis Division (MSD) which supplies innovative solutions for microscopy and microanalysis. This enthusiastic Communications Strategist will manage day-to-day PR activities across teams focused on the Material Sciences, Life Sciences, Semiconductor, Visual Sciences, and Spectroscopy businesses.


The successful candidate will help guide, develop, and drive the execution of the overall MSD external communications strategy, working with internal and external PR/Media agencies to pitch and generate new business opportunities. We’re looking for someone who wants to manage everything from campaign development to story creation to pitching to amplification and tie-in’s with social media. The position will analyze PR campaign results and course-correct tactics as needed to provide the greatest ROI. This position is located in Hillsboro, OR.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive integrated communications campaigns for multiple business units
  • Serve as contact for internal stakeholders, providing recommendations and anticipating needs including gathering information from internal teams and external partners to drive campaigns forward
  • Contribute to the development and execution of integrated digital/social/broadcast campaigns
  • Identify, create, and grow relationships with target influencers to appropriately engage, pitch, and secure coverage
  • Research and share industry insights, shifts and opportunities in the landscape
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum/Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, English or a related field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in integrated communications/PR, either in-house or at an agency and/or within an applicable industry
  • Exceptional media relations background with demonstrated capacity of working with global business and trade press to manage story development
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (particularly Outlook, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel)

  • Self-starter, takes accountability for role on projects
  • Demonstrated ability to establish strong relationships
  • Established influencer relationships and proactive story placement
  • Customer service orientation
  • Fast-paced team environment (frequent tight deadlines, multitasking, etc.) and ability to handle pressure and multiple tasks
  • Experience working globally or with colleagues in multiple locations
  • Strong presentation and consulting skills along with the ability to read, write and speak English
  • May need to work more than 40 hours per week on occasion
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
