Clinical Account Manager, Microbiology
Based in Netherlands


We are currently looking for an Account Manager to join our Microbiology Division (MBD) who will be responsible for sales across the Dutch clinical market and report into MBD’s Benelux Sales Leader. MBD customers around the world trust our microbiology solutions for the diagnosis of infectious disease and detection of bacterial contamination in industrial applications. We serve public health, clinical laboratories with a portfolio of products that include culture media and antimicrobial susceptibility testing solutions.

In this role as Clinical AM you will be responsible for achieving the territory sales targets whilst maximizing profitability through effective territory sales planning.

Further responsibilities will include:
Achieve the territory sales and margin targets
Adhere to company policy for pricing and quotations
Generate the appropriate level of sales activity
Building up and maintain strong relationships with customers/DMU
Report on sales and market issues via the CRM system
Connect with other Thermo Fisher Scientific colleagues


As at least 80% of time is customer-facing, this role will require significant daily travel within Netherlands.

The ideal candidate will have:


Graduate or equivalent in Microbiology, Biomedical Science or Biological Science
Relevant laboratory experience
Sales experience, preferred
The ability to travel extensively within territory

To succeed in this role you must have:
  • Excellent communication skills,
  • Particularly verbally/face to face,
  • Negotiation skills,
  • Able to work independently and be a team player as well,
  • Flexible and “go-getter”
  • Outgoing, friendly and confident personality and be able to effectively engage with customers across a range of settings spanning one-to-one meetings, exhibitions and formal presentations
