Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a BI Reporting Analyst located at Pittsburgh, PA or Carlsbad, CA to work with the Business Intelligence team on variety of new development and/or enhancement projects

Responsibilities

  • Leading data discovery discussions with Business in requirement sessions and map the business requirements to logical and physical modeling solutions
  • Design and develop various Enterprise Business Intelligence Solutions including business analysis of interfacing and integration with ERP systems of records and development of reporting and analytics.
  • Coordinate technical efforts of other IT groups, remote teams and external vendors to ensure effective development, modification, testing and implementation of systems to meet customer needs.
  • Develop documentation and training materials, participate with customer groups in the planning for longer-term systems enhancements.
  • Independent problems solving skills, demonstrated ability to multi-task and apply initiative and creativity on challenging projects.
  • Ability to effectively present information and communicate findings, conclusions and recommendations to business management. Able to respond effectively to questions from managers, customers, peers and vendors.
Required Skills
  • Power BI Reporting, Microsoft SSAS Cube Development Skills
  • Cognos Report Studio, Framework Manager, Transformer
  • Strong data analysis and data profiling skills
  • Good understanding on cloud technologies AWS/Azure
  • SQL query writing skills and dash boarding
  • Self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, and detail oriented
  • Fluent in both normalized and dimensional model disciplines and techniques
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Oracle Database (11g or above).
  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science or information systems (or equivalent experience)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow and inform priorities and timelines
  • Ability to work independently and in conjunction with a team
  • Understanding of industry best practices pertaining to Quality Assurance concepts and procedures
  • Analyze ERP (Oracle ERP, SAP, JDE) systems to design, define and integrate Operations/Commercial/Financial Data into Enterprise Data warehouse
  • Exposure to ETL tool Informatica or other industry leading tools
  • Exposure to python, scala or other programming language is a plus
  • Scrum/Kanban and Agile Project Management exposure is plus
