How Will You Make an Impact?

The Sourcing Engineer drives the implementation and execution of sourcing projects and initiatives to ensure success of the CMD business. Will collaborate (in a matrix organization) with Commodity, Operations and R&D leaders, within CMD, to meet sourcing goals and objectives.
The Sourcing Engineer will be responsible for evaluating and driving CMS supplier technical qualifications in support of materials, parts and assembly approvals as well as collaborate on New Product Development & Introduction projects (NPDI), which are in alignment with the divisional sourcing and commodity strategies. This position will own and lead technical sourcing initiatives that will deliver a high level of savings to CMD’s products and the business. In addition; this role will support and participate in initiatives to provide and improve on best–in-class quality of the CMD product lines,





What will you do?

  • Technically qualify supplier capability and participate in approvals of direct material and assemblies for our products.
  • BOM analysis and processes verification in order to deliver improvements to product quality, performance and cost.
  • Identifies and recommend changes in material and/or processes for high risk material or end of life components that will facilitate productivity and cost.
  • Participate in sourcing activities to identify, qualify and recommends appropriate suppliers for the product line.
  • Proactively monitor advancements in sourcing technologies to improve productivity and savings.
  • Participate on or lead cross functional teams for product transfer, re- sourcing or outsourcing initiatives.
  • Support technical project teams through the driving of critical milestones and deliverables while effectively communicating to internal and external stake holders.
  • Prepare and coordinate critical onsite and virtual meetings in order to maintain alignment on project deliverables.
  • Extremely adaptable to changing requirements in projects, resources and business scenarios while being able to focus & deliver on goals and objectives.





How will you get there?


Education
  • BS Electrical Engineering preferred, but not mandatory


Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with design, manufacture or test of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies, Electro-mechanical assemblies and/or Power & Thermal Management
  • High level of understanding of manufacturing processes and practices of multi-cultural, multi-commodity suppliers i.e. electronics, PCBA and contract manufacturing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills needed, oral and written communication.
  • Strong analytical skills required.
  • Knowledge of the basic procurement practices and practical application of sourcing projects.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Skilled and experienced in software and enterprise systems to support both Engineering and Sourcing functions including; ERP (SAP), Visio, MSO Office.
  • Ability to travel both local and internationally up to 25% annually
