The Senior Sales Operations Analyst will be a senior member of a team responsible for providing sales operations support to various portions of the sales organization both regionally and globally across the Life Science Group (LSG). These activities include reporting, analytics, program tracking, performance dashboards, assisting with quota and territory planning, account level business reviews, and other sales ops related functions, as needed. This individual will be aligned to a Senior Sales Operations Leader and will primarily work to support a specific group within the organization they may be asked to support others functions as needed based on business requirements and workload.

This person will work cross-functionally with: Marketing, Finance, Sales Operations/Pricing, Compensation, IT/CRM and multiple Business Units. The ideal candidate will engage directly with Sales to drive strategic account planning and provide recommendations for decision making. This person must be able to present to business leaders within Thermo Fisher Scientific. This position provides a unique opportunity for a motivated self-starter to demonstrate his or her ability to add significant value to Thermo Fisher Scientific.


Responsibilities:
  • Provide standard revenue and performance reporting/analysis, business reviews, build reports/sales tools, maintain systems infrastructure and ad hoc analytics
  • Collaborate with Senior Sales Ops Leader, Sales VPs and GSD/CSD account owners to identify and drive division selling opportunities at specific accounts/territories globally
  • Partner across LSG divisions to gain complete customer analytics and business plan
  • Strong Commercial orientation with a passion for understanding, developing, improving, and streamlining sales tools and reports for better guiding sales teams in setting selling strategies
  • Prepare executive-level quarterly and monthly business reviews and present to internal and external customers
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis for business units around customer, products and vendor dynamics
  • Support the Compensation team and Sales Ops Leader with territory management, quota setting, and commission plans.
  • Identify, validate, and execute opportunities for sales performance improvements
  • Drive training and use of selling tools available to the field teams to better manage/grow their business
  • Assist with maintaining Cognos revenue reporting, and provide guidance and training to the sales team as needed.
  • Assist with driving behavioral changes with the sales force to maximize selling results and overall productivity
  • Drive internal improvements and efficiencies within the Sales Operations team

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Advanced Excel knowledge Required
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to interact effectively with Pricing, Operations, Business Analytics, Marketing, Finance, and Commercial teams
  • 5-years experience in sales and business analysis
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver
  • Must be able to understand and analyze data, synthesizing large volumes of data into meaningful and concise reports and actionable findings
  • Previous experience driving projects and activities to successful conclusions
  • Able to work independently, multi-task and respond to requests in a timely manner
  • Work cross-functionally and effectively influence and partner with business functions

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a discipline requiring extensive analytical skills.
  • 3 to 5-year experience in Life Sciences(Biology, Chemistry, Biochem, etc.) preferred
  • Cognos and Siebel experience
  • Advanced PowerPoint knowledge
