Job Description
The Thermo Fisher Scientific HPLC business has been setting decisive and innovative trends for many years in the development, manufacturing and marketing of instruments and software for High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The expertise of our highly qualified staff contributes significantly to our economic success, enabling us to continuously expand our site in Germering near Munich. The Product Management team plays a pivotal role on the road of turning ideas into pioneering products. We condense customer needs into new product requirements, bring these concepts to life in close collaboration with our R&D engineering group, and maintain our products across all phases of a product lifecycle.

For the support of our Team we are searching for a

Product Specialist (m/w)
Fixed term contract for the duration of 2 years.

Within the HPLC business unit we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Product specialist who will work on the design, evaluation and introduction of HPLC. You are involved in various stages of the product development process from defining product requirements to successful product introductions. You will work with customers, R&D engineers and application scientists on developing innovative products that make a difference in the market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply your knowledge and experience on defining and evaluating innovative products that make an impact for our customers in various markets
  • Conduct competitive analysis of HPLC products for product positioning
  • Work with R&D engineers and application scientist on improving our current products
  • Generate experimental proof data to support product development projects
  • Perform product management activities according to the product lifecycle process
  • Work with marketing teams to create launch and training materials such as websites, seminars brochures, videos and articles
  • Travel worldwide to present our products to customers and support our sales organization to be successful

Your Background
  • Master or University degree in chemistry, food science biochemistry or related life science
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in separation science, preferably using (U)HPLC , SPE or 2D-LC
  • Customer centric mentality and the ability to translate customers requirements into business plans and product definition
  • Pro-active personality with an organized working style
  • Excellent presentation skills in English and comfortable to present at scientific conferences
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional global teams
  • Ability to complete multiple projects with tight timelines
  • Willing to travel up to 25% of time
