The Engineering Systems Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of electron microscopes and focused ion beam systems for the R&D department. This includes adhering to a preventative maintenance plans as well as rapid troubleshooting and repair of failed systems. This person shall also be responsible for some system upgrades of software and hardware and testing and system verification. Executing appropriate material transactions for this work is an important part of the role. Additionally, this person will be responsible for the overall use of the engineering cleanroom, assuring good operational functionality for the numerous stakeholders

Required Skills/Experience:
  • Microelectronics Technology AAS degree or equivalent
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance skills, preferably with complex capital equipment.
  • Ability to use and understand results from general electrical test equipment (i.e. DVM and Oscilloscope).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical assembly drawings.
  • Strong mechanical ability for installing or replacing delicate electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Excellent organizational and tactical decision making skills involved with keeping capital equipment in a production-ready state.
  • Ability to interact successfully with technical and non-technical members of cross- functional project teams.
  • Good computer skills.
  • The ability to maintain a somewhat flexible work schedule.
