How Will You Make an Impact?

The Staff Chemistry Test Engineer is an expert in Analytical Chemistry and is experienced in working with product development teams supporting the NPDI process through verification and validation.



What will you do?

  • Develop testing strategies and processes for new and updated instrument designs.
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance (mentorship) to other testing team members.
  • Participate and provide a testing perspective in review meetings of requirements, specifications, and project progress.
  • Collaborate closely with project team members and other cross-functional groups in the organization contributing to project objectives.
  • Understand the current product requirements and the expected product testing deliverables, generally by consulting with other project and testing team members.
  • Execute required tests appropriate for the current development phase with precise attention to detail.
  • Generate and deliver required test reports completely, accurately, and timely.
  • Communicate with project and testing leadership, both in written and verbal formats, on-going progress and challenges to completing assignments to the desired quality, quantity, or timeframe.
  • Adhere to safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Write SOP and work instructions in compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.



How will you get there?


Education

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent in analytical chemistry, chemical engineering, or related discipline

Experience
  • In depth knowledge of chromatography is required, such as Ion Chromatography or High Pressure Liquid Chromatography.
  • Well versed in the use of analytical equipment and analytical chemistry principles.
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation principles and troubleshooting ability.
  • Proficient in Test Methodology development and execution.
  • Ability to mentor and provide technical leadership to more junior engineers (team leadership).
  • Understanding of a new product development process.
  • High level of technology fluency to understand and properly communicate the technology associated with assigned products.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with different priorities.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and possess strong initiative.
  • Ability to dissect problems with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to accurately plan, define, and manage projects tasks.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Capable of working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ph.D. or Post-Doctoral Scientist or equivalent in Analytical Chemistry is a plus.
  • Experienced working with Chromeleon 7 Instrument Control Methods, Automation Techniques, and Quantitation is desired.
  • Experience with quality assurance, quality control, and process improvement tools and methodologies would be a plus.
  • Experience in a regulated environment, including ISO or FDA with experience in documentation and validation protocol desired
  • Experience with project management highly desired.
