We have a great opportunity for a field based Account Manager with a scientific background and a passion for networking and building relationships to join the Scientific team in Melbourne.
You will manage a portfolio of Scientific accounts in VIC/TAS supporting the Clinical, Academia and Research customer base. You will need to have professional credibility and an understanding of our clients’ needs to achieve and exceed sales territory financial targets.


Responsibilities:

  • Achieve and exceed sales territory financial targets
  • Develop and maintain a sales opportunity funnel in line with targets
  • Focus on growing VIC/TAS existing accounts and developing new business
  • Proactively follow up and assist our customers with appropriate solutions
  • Identify opportunities across all business units within Thermo Fisher Scientific
  • Manage customer relationships and be a ‘supplier of choice’
  • Fully utilise salesforce.com to maximise the benefit to yourself and your colleagues
  • Utilise internal resources effectively and work closely with management, customer service, field service, marketing and sales teams
  • Ensure that an effective customer contact program is being implemented and managed so as to maximise sales growth & key customer relationships
  • Ensure that sales territory and customer e-commerce targets are achieved
  • Develop and implement key account plans and strategies in line with marketing and sales management objectives
  • Develop and maintain a strongly loyal customer base
  • Ensure opportunities are being maximised and customer (external & internal) expectations are being met
  • Meet and exceed customer expectations in terms of service levels such as response time, complaint resolution and management, follow ups and provision of information

Minimum Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong experience in as many of the following areas as possible
  • Tertiary qualification in a scientific field
  • Previous laboratory experience or similar role
  • Previous Sales experience with accountability for achievement of KPI’s and Financial Targets
  • Knowledge and confidence in the sales process
Essential to the role is;
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, both internally and externally
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage your time to meet customer needs, KPI’s and deadlines
  • High level of responsiveness
  • Ability to travel State-wide, and interstate when and if required
  • High standard of computer literacy
