Job Description

The Sr. Project Manager is accountable for overarching project management across the portfolio of digital and traditional projects for large, high-volume clients. The Sr. Project Manager owns the client relationship, develops and manages robust production schedules for large-scale campaigns and initiatives, directs tactical tasks and monitors budget health. The Sr. Project Manager services a facilitator of the creative process and works collaboratively with creative teams to deliver, pitches, creative reviews and campaigns and initiatives that are on-time, on-budget and in alignment with client objectives. The Sr. Project Manager works closely with client partners to optimize campaign planning and vet content provided so that projects can be executed seamlessly. Responsibilities include but are not limited to account management, project management, planning, budget management, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports development of marketing campaign plans based on goals and objectives as defined by strategic marketing.
  • Responsible for producing and managing complex schedules for large-scale campaigns and initiatives ensuring that tactical schedules align to the campaign or portfolio level plan.
  • Acts as a facilitator of the creative process leading planning and concept phases of projects as well as pitch and creative review meetings.

  • Responsible for budgetary elements including tracking projects against the annual operating plan, producing forecasts for client demand and maintaining transparency with the client regarding financial status at the project portfolio level.
  • Manages prioritization of work at the portfolio level negotiating deadlines and budget with clients and the internal team as appropriate.
  • Owns the client relationship and acts as the primary department contact for large, high-volume, strategic clients.
  • Manages routine client-facing meetings such as weekly production meetings and campaign kick-offs.
  • Evaluates campaign brief, work orders and content and works with the client to obtain the necessary clarification or alterations before passing to internal teams for execution.
  • Delegates some tactical scheduling, project management or communication tasks to the Project Manager ensuring that overarching timelines and budgets are met.
  • Responsible for executing daily operations working with creative teams to ensure effective collaboration and on-time, error-free delivery of projects.
  • Identifies dependencies, mitigates risk, and removes barriers for internal team members.
  • Leads post-mortem exercises with internal teams and clients and develops actionable plans to improve efficiency.
  • Contributes to process improvement by identifying gaps or inefficiencies and proposing solutions.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in marketing communications/related field
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • 3+ years managing client accounts / relationships
  • Affinity for developing integrated marketing campaigns leveraging best practices across digital and traditional media and tactics
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including presentation skills
  • Proven ability to gain consensus, influence organizational behavior and lead decision making processes
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to effectively and assertively navigate various personalities
  • Ability to maintain composure and perform under pressure, amid shifting priorities
  • Experience using project and/or campaign management software such as Workamajig, Workfront, Base Camp or similar
  • Experience in a heavily matrixed organization working cross-functionally across multiple approval levels
  • Process and detail orientation
  • Experience in marketing or project management for the chemicals, research, or safety market, or industry of similar products and technology would benefit this role

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in marketing communications/related field
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • 3+ years managing client accounts / relationships
