Our division develops and manufactures industry-leading focused ion and electron beam hardware and software products, enabling research, development and manufacturing at a nanoscale level. The Operations Engineer (OE) works on projects for New Product Introduction (NPI) and contributes to the product and process improvement after release. The OE also provides technical support in order to enable efficient solutions to problems in Manufacturing, Service and Supply chain.


Responsibilities:
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects as they transition from concept through release according to Product Management Process. Support factory and field service engineers with first builds, installs and upgrades of the new product.
  • Create and maintain technical product documentation, including Bills of Materials (BoM), Work Instructions (WI), and interconnect diagrams, for manufacturing and service support, from product release into manufacturing through end of service.
  • Provide technical support to the factory, to ensure on-time delivery shipments.
  • Conduct detailed troubleshooting and analysis of system or component level problems that affect reliability, performance, etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects to improve manufacturability, serviceability and COGS reductions. Perform hands-on assembly, testing and training of personnel as required during project work (i.e., assembly, test or measurement, troubleshooting).
  • Design tools and test fixtures for new and sustaining products.
  • Create training plan for factory and service for new products/modules build, install and repair procedures.
  • Support supply chain with engineering expertise, which includes electronics parts obsolescence, supplier technical quality issues, and supplier qualification support.
  • Support Field Service/Technical Support with product escalations as necessary. May require some on-site support at customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • University degree in a technical discipline, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills. Systems engineering, electrical engineering technology or experience in electronics is preferred.
  • Must be able to work for extended period in clean room environment
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audience.
  • Must demonstrate ability to create technical documentation and engineering reports using common Microsoft Office and Acrobat applications.
  • Demonstrated experience with technical projects and ability to provide clear and concise analysis of data and basic experimental methods, test protocols and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and resolve issues that involve gaining cooperation of cross-functional, multi-cultural groups and sites.
  • Must have ability to obtain a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as required
  • Business proficiency in English language (verbal and written)
  • Self-starter who is also highly productive with limited supervision
