An exciting opportunity to join our Global Business Technology Partnering team. Our mission to leverage the company’s extensive technology and product portfolio outside the core research markets to extend the company’s reach and accelerate growth and profitability. We do this by establishing high level relationships with a range of companies in the in vitro diagnostics (IVD) and applied markets (e.g. Pharmaceutical and industrial companies) space.
Identify, evaluate and execute opportunities to supply products and out-license on an OEM basis for use by other companies in their products and services.
ü Focus on the Molecular Diagnostics (MDx) segment of IVD market, cell therapy and out-license business opportunities.
ü Identify and evaluate new business opportunities to OEM-out the company’s products to other companies for use by them on an OEM basis and/or license the Company’s intellectual property to third parties.
ü Initiate and develop specific account plan to build strategic relationships with clients in multiple functions (e.g. R&D, manufacturing, procurement, marketing, QA and regulatory affairs) and at multiple levels (e.g. scientist, project manager and occasionally senior executives) as may be necessary.
ü Align, coordinate and may lead cross-functional teams to execute on prioritized business opportunities that includes sales, manufacturing, legal, licensing, marketing, R&D, etc in Greater China, Norway and the US.
ü Organize effective customer visits by colleagues who are experts in technologies and project execution from production and R&D sites in the US and Norway.
ü Pricing of customized products in long term and complex contracts to achieve both profitability goals and customer satisfaction.
ü Coordinate technical support to fulfill client needs, respond to inquiries, and resolve problems in a timely manner. Investigate product issues and ensures satisfactory resolution of customer complaints.
ü Understand and act in accordance to applicable licenses and intellectual property, as well as monitor and manage contracts and relationships with clients.
Nature and Scope:
ü Exercises high-level judgment on selecting accounts to target for strategic relationships, selecting decision makers to involve, and when and how to organize LTC’s offering across the product and IP portfolios for specific account situations.
ü Judgment on how to manage customer organizations and internal team dynamics, and around pricing, has high impact on the company’s image with customers, internal effectiveness, and profitability.
ü Erroneous decisions can have a serious impact on the overall success of current and/or future company operations .
ü Ability to effectively negotiate with and influence potential clients, partners and internal colleagues is required. Ability to effectively shift priorities and work at a rapid pace is required. Proven relationship building skill is a plus.
ü Excellent English and Chinese communication skills, including writing, articulating, listening, and questioning skills are required. Ability to effectively interface with all levels inside and outside the company, including senior executives is required.
Advanced knowledge of Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, BioProduction and specifically of company products. Knowledge of IVD regulations and manufacturing quality standards. Knowledge of the fundamental concepts of intellectual property, patents and contract law is a plus.
Requires a Master’s degree in any life science, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced scientific degree and/or MBA preferred.
Require a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including identification, validation and execution of strategic business opportunities and market research. Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, and slide presentations is required. Proven ability to lead teams without being the manager both internally and externally is preferred.
Must have flexibility to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Frequent travel is required (up to 50%).
