Location : Eastern Canada : Greater Toronto Area, Quebec, Manitoba, Michigan (US)


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generates and qualifies sales leads building and managing a strong pipeline to fruition
  • Generates forecast reports
  • Builds and manages accounts in assigned territory ( Eastern Canada : Greater Toronto Area, Quebec, Manitoba, Michigan)
  • Support and coordinate efforts with the Genetic Analysis Sales Representatives
  • Increases customer awareness of Affymetrix and is an advocate for its platforms and applications across the Affymetrix portfolio
  • Creates strong and impactful relationships with customers resulting in sales and support
  • Devises and implements account and territory strategies
  • Identifies and communicates product improvements and new product opportunities
  • Identifies and mitigates competitive barriers
  • Provide market intelligence back into the organization
  • May provide after sales technical support and customer service
  • Coordinates and/or conducts both technical and promotional seminars
  • Initiates and coordinates action plans to penetrate new markets
  • Participates in process and operation improvement opportunities
  • Responds to internal and external inquiries
  • Complies with company quality management systems, policies and procedures
  • Provides mentorship, if applicable
  • Additional duties/responsibilities according to business needs

Education and Experience Requirement

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or Master in a Life Sciences field
  • 5-8 years of related experience in field sales with consumable and instrumentation.
  • Proven sales skills, technical knowledge related to genomics and genetics
  • Interpersonal skills: works well in a team environment, strong communication and presentation skills, able to build trust
  • Results oriented: proven sales success, consistent performance record

Level of Autonomy and Complexity:

  • Experienced professional with full comprehension of established principles, theories, concepts to resolve an extensive range of issues
  • Demonstrates good judgment in applying appropriate action resolve issues of diverse scope requiring analysis and evaluation of factors
  • Contributes to establishment of organization's objectives; error in judgment or failure to achieve objectives will have crucial impact and will require extensive addition of resources to correct errors and achieve goals
  • Receives little instruction and creates own methods for resolution of everyday tasks; receives general directions for new projects; work is assessed for achievement of goals


This function requires travelling within the Eastern Canada Territory : Greater Toronto Area, Quebec, Manitoba and Michigan (US)
