Brief role summary:
The Secondary Manufacturing Supervisor will be the main focus for the Bulk Manufacturing, Filling, Packing, and Preparation Services operations at the Dartford site. They will be focused on ensuring that product is manufactured, filled and packed according to customer demand whilst maintaining safety and quality performance at all times. This is achieved by managing a flexible, multi-disciplined team and developing manufacturing processes to deliver product effectively and efficiently. Responsibilities include manufacturing of bulk reagents, coating of microtitre plates, and the filling, labelling and packing of kit components. Safety, Quality, Compliance, Delivery and cost objectives must be achieved whilst ensuring an engaged and motivated team.
  • Management of the Bulk Manufacturing, Filling, Packing, and Preparation Services teams.
  • Provides guidance, direction and leadership to ensure that products are manufactured with the highest level of quality in a safe, compliant, and timely manner that will meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, output, productivity and employee engagement.
  • Owns and drives a culture of “Right First Time and On Time”
  • Monitors, reviews, and improves manufacturing and quality related activities and drives investigations, corrective and preventative actions.
  • Training and Development of your team via PMD process.
  • To maintain focus on delivery of product to Customers (internal and external) in a compliant and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for preparing and delivering Departmental budget including Capex and training.
  • Must at all time uphold the company code of Ethics and 4I Values; Integrity, intensity, Innovation and Involvement acting as a role model leader.
  • Any other tasks/duties deemed to be within the competence of the post-holder.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Management experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong and proven understanding of the demands of manufacturing operations and the management of a team within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral across many levels of an organisation.
  • Proven strong leadership skills to help drive the department performance.
  • Working knowledge and application of lean techniques to drive a continuous improvement culture
  • Strong driver of safety and quality culture.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Educated to degree level in a scientific or business operations area.
  • Strong project management
  • Experience of working in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) or regulated manufacturing environment.
