Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overall business leader for product portfolio through cross-functional direct and matrix team leadership (including Marketing, Operations, R&D, finance, Quality, Service)

  • Develop value proposition across full products and technologies

  • Initiates and oversees, through direct reports, research and development programs, product management, customer service / project management, quality and PPI (practical improvement process) for the product line

  • P&L Responsibility – OG, EBITA, Measured Cash Flow

  • Responsible for meeting Annual Operating Plan (AOP) goals across revenue growth, gross margin, and EBITA expansion for the Vibrational product line.

  • Lead annual strategic planning process for the Vibrational business in alignment with broader Spectroscopy and MSD strategy and business processes.

  • Responsible for pricing strategies in collaboration with commercial management, which will be used to maximize revenue and EBITA contribution to the company.

  • The position overall is responsible for delivering profitable growth in the established product line, as well as utilizing the divisional commercial structure in China, India, LATAM and SEA to gain significant share in strategic areas

  • Responsible for targeted market research, customer interactions to identify and clarify new opportunities, market share assessment and set strategic and tactical priorities for channels and global sales & service functions.

  • Identify products, technologies, and capabilities needed to advance market position; perform make/buy/partner analyses to identify investment priorities, and recommend investments to the leadership team.

  • Drive product life cycle and technology development roadmap for future investments linked to customer needs.

  • Have the managerial and leadership competencies to build and manage a high performing team who will exceed targets and expectations – with the personal drive and ambition to deliver outstanding results - and to develop talents.

  • Develop strong understanding of funding and investment patterns and build relationship strategies with funding and regulatory bodies

  • Management of direct reports to include hiring, salary management, goal setting, retention, career development and (when necessary) corrective actions

  • Regular travel both domestically and internationally to customer facilities, regional offices, and conventions/tradeshows. Expectation should be that ~30% of annual time could be spent traveling and that trips as long as 2-3 weeks at a time may be required.

  • Other miscellaneous duties as required

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or a scientific/technical field is required, along with 7+ years of progressively more responsible experience in product management, marketing or business development

  • A minimum of 3 years people management experience

  • Functional, technical knowledge of spectroscopy application and theory

  • An MBA is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions:

  • Strong business acumen and a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional and personal relationships with key business partners and customers positively impacting business growth

  • Ability to coach, develop, and manage people

  • Proficiency with marketing and product management fundamentals is required

  • Financial understanding to evaluate business plans, contribution, and risk, also to include understanding of operational finance (e.g., cost accounting, revenue recognition)

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • High energy level with the ability to take initiative

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills plus demonstrate strong leadership capabilities

  • Ability to work effectively in different cultures and geographic areas

  • Ability to improve and implement processes and structure

  • Ability to successfully create clear, actionable objectives and facilitate career planning for team members.

  • Willingness to travel up to 35%, both domestic and internationally, as required.
