Reporting to: Sales Operations Director, APJ

The Regional Pricing Operations Team Lead is responsible for partnering with regional & global sales operations team and country commercial teams to provide support & guidance on pricing operations, set up & manage the regional deal desk function.

Job Description
  • Provide guidance to country pricing teams on pricing and margin analysis matters such as deal analysis, Siebel quote support, year-end pricing agreement coordination
  • Manage daily pricing operations such as maintenance of list prices, set up of promo codes in ERP systems
  • Ongoing process improvement to pricing operations and processes to ensure timely response to commercial teams and customers; recommend/implement pricing process improvements to increase productivity
  • Lead the planning, coordinating and execution of annual list price exercise
  • Lead the planning, coordinating of annual pricing agreement renewal exercise
  • Analysis, monitoring and reporting of realized price results; recommend corrective actions to steer country pricing performance
  • Involve in setting annual realized price targets with country teams and global strategic pricing (conduct simulation analysis for discussions with divisions and commercial leadership)
  • Develop pricing actions or policies to maximize profitability or achieve price targets
  • Review and present recommendations for pricing requests
  • Develop analytics, dashboards and tools to drive pricing target achievements, initiate and manage pricing review cadence to support commercial leadership in guiding sales management ‘walking the pricing AOP’
  • Implement & align global pricing operations initiatives to the region
  • Participate in integration projects. Lead in Pricing work stream.
  • Serve as the trusted adviser to commercial sales team on large deal related matters, advice sale team on alternative options and/or value proposition to help drive deal closures.
  • Manage and own non-standard deal requests, collaborate with commercial leadership to structure complex deals and driving cross-functional and cross solution collaboration.
  • Read, interpret, and escalate contractual language mark up from customers, collaborate with internal teams to respond in timely manner.
  • Ensure all transactions adhere to internal revenue recognition policies and operational guideline and procedures
  • Drive best practices to increase sales efficiency and effectiveness by partnering with Regional Sales Enablement Manager & Director Sales Operations via deal reviews, early checkpoints and enforcement of standard business practices and policies
  • Escalate issues and exceptions – collaborate to process changes and improvement
  • Perform other related projects/functions as required by Director Sales Operations APJ
  • Effectively Coach and Develop a young pricing analyst team

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business or other related field.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in Life Sciences preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years Sales or Sales Operations, Deal Desk or related experience; with team management experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with experience working with cross functional departments and cross countries.
  • Able to form and maintain strong cross functional business relationships. Must be a team player and able to influence others in matrix environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills, supported by a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent business acumen and proven ability in commercial negotiations.
  • High Emotional Quotient (‘EQ’) and ability to maintain poise under pressure.
  • Self-starter with ability to independently identify action items required in any given situation.
  • Strong change management skills and experience with a rapidly changing business environment and ongoing operational improvements.
  • Proficient in Excel, VBA and SQL (advanced), Access and other database/multi-dimensional/statistical applications would be a big plus.
