Job Description

Due to an internal promotion we are looking for a Product Specialist for our High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) portfolio. This is a great opportunity to join a key technology-centric organisation in this market with critical mass. In this role you will be tasked with achieving or exceeding annual booking and revenue objectives by increasing presence and customer awareness of our HPLC solutions throughout the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) region.

Operating in a highly competitive market environment, the role has responsibility for marketing activities, presentations, demonstrations, increasing market share and achieving annual sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales of HPLC solutions, both directly and alongside partners, in defined markets and industries
  • Work alongside the Asia Pacific HPLC team, the Global Partner Alliance, throughout the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD) organization and the broader organisation
  • Grow pipeline of opportunity and develop new leads and target business areas
  • Develop business plans and strategies to achieve and exceed revenue goals
  • Co-ordinate with our sales teams to ensure business growth
  • Provide regular, detailed forecasting to sales management
  • Utilise Salesforce.com CRM for managing accounts, opportunities and leads, and for monitoring business health
  • Prepare business plans for the territory and ensure account plans and sales activities are consistent with overall business goals
  • Communicate with Product Management and Development
  • Collaborate with other groups within Thermo Fisher to implement appropriate strategies to address business opportunities and overcome obstacles
  • Work with sales people from across the business to identify cross-selling opportunities, best practices and leverage “One Thermo Fisher” value proposition

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors level degree in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in complex Instrumentation Solution solutions sales, with a focus on HPLC

Other Job Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate in English is essential

  • Demonstrate clear understanding of business value delivered by enterprise software solutions

  • Sufficient technical and business knowledge to present a compelling value proposition to prospects and customers
  • Utilizes regional resources to ensure they are properly leveraged relative to deal closure, probability and opportunity size
  • Experience in managing the contract review process and negotiation
