How Will You Make an Impact?

As a member of a Software Development Team., the Software Engineer performs all aspects of Software Development including programming, system design, code review, design review, unit testing, and integration testing.


What will you do?

  • Hands on Software Development of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s software products.
  • Participate as a team member on product release projects.
  • Work with Support to address customer issues.
  • Be part of a team to help drive software development initiatives.
  • Effectively apply project methodology and standards to new initiatives or to help solve a customer issue.
  • Contribute to the development team in the product domain and/or technology.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.



How will you get there?



Education
  • B.S. or M.S. in Physics, Math, Engineering preferably related to Software development with up to 5 years work experience
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions

  • Ability to work cooperatively and professionally to consistently and rapidly conceive, develop, execute and complete short-term high-tech research projects relevant to the business on-time and on-budget
  • Ability to consistently think creatively to scope and propose new projects across multiple software disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to work highly independently while maintaining regular stakeholder contact for updates and discussions
  • Demonstrated ability to estimate and deliver completion time and budget for projects
  • Ability to use scientific principles and methods to understand, anticipate, test, and resolve technical challenges that cross engineering and scientific disciplines
  • Ability to evaluate and summarize new technology opportunities including OEM, vendor and M&A
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent collaboration skills
  • Windows, MS Office proficiency
