How Will You Make an Impact?

A dynamic and self-motivated individual is required to test state-of-the-art mass spectrometry software products. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with strong organizational and communication skills, and a desire to develop their career as a software professional in the scientific community. This position reports directly to the Manager of Software Engineering



What will you do?

  • Participate in all phases of the product development life cycle from product definition to final release
  • Conduct testing of analytical instruments and related software applications including autosamplers, gas chromatographs, and complete end-to-end GC-MS and LC-MS systems. Responsibilities include creating and executing Test Plans, and Test Cases, determining pass/fail of test criteria, documenting issues, and final verification of defect resolutions
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new software products as well as the maintenance and improvement of existing software. Responsibilities may include the design and creation of clean efficient code according to software requirements and design documentation, debugging issues in existing code, development and troubleshooting of database enabled applications, and preparing software documentation
Perform documentation, test automation, and other duties as assigned


How will you get there?


Education

Bachelor’s degree in a physical science, life science, or computer science discipline.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in either a software development/test or laboratory environment
  • Working knowledge of at least one of the following: C#, Java, Python, C++,C
  • Strong desire and ability to learn
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Strong decision making skills
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively
  • Ability to work in a diverse team of professionals
  • Demonstrated focus on the customer experience and product quality.
