Job Title: Inside Sales Support

Business Unit - Materials & Minerals (part of CAD)
Location: - Johannesburg, South Africa
Reports to: - Inside Sales Manager
Band: - 4 P

Responsibilities:

  • Support the global BMH Sales team to maximise products sales through
    • Work with the Sales, Engineering, and Operations Teams to scope the what we offer to a customer
    • Ability to review and understand complex proposal documents and specifications, and follow exacting instructions.
    • Put together quotes & tender documents in a timely and accurate manner to give Thermo Fisher the best possibility of winning the order
    • Actively follow up customers to support any information they need or answer any technical questions they have
    • Lead the handover of any of any product orders to the order fulfilment team, including
      • Accurately completing configurator documents
      • Answer any outstanding technical questions with the customer prior to hand over
      • Ensure, clean, approved terms and conditions are handed over
    • Actively follow up lost quotes to understand the reasons behind the loss
    • Maintain data in SFDC to ensure the pipeline of opportunities is current
  • Provide input to the regional growth strategies for BMH to support year on year revenue growth
  • Work with the regional factories to maintain up to date product costs to ensure correct pricing is offered
  • Be a backup for the Global customer service team to ensure best possible customer service to our global customer base




Minimum Qualifications
  • Engineering qualification – Some type of Electro-Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in a customer service environment

Minimum Experience & Skills:
  • Experience in quoting, order management
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on customers service excellence in a busy, challenging environment
  • Experience working with ERP systems along with all Microsoft 365 programs
  • A high attention to detail to ensure quotes and order confirmations are correct first time
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Desirable experience & Skills
  • Technical aptitude (mechanical and/or electronic engineering or technician background)
  • Experience selling spare parts in an industrial market
  • Understanding of Process – how things are made or work – i.e. mining, cement, coal utilities, food processing, sand and gravel
