Senior Technician Fermentation – Naarden/The Netherlands

What will you do?
The BioProduction Division (BPD) offers biopharmaceutical customers a complete range of products including single-use technologies, analytical instruments, cell culture media, centrifugation, purification and analytics. A fast growing segment within this large offering is the CaptureSelect affinity product line which delivers a range of purification and analytical products for every step in the development process, from discovery to final manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals. The products are developed and manufactured by BAC BV, a Thermo Fisher Scientific company with two sites in the Netherlands
As a Senior technician Fermentation you will execute the production and primary recovery of cameloid antibodies with yeast fermentations ranging from small scale to large production scale.

What will be your key duties and responsibilities?
The Senior Technician Fermentation executes the following tasks:
  • Execution of fermentation and primary recovery and all associated tasks according to the applicable Working Procedures and Batch Records
  • Maintains stocks raw materials and technical supplies and takes appropriate actions
  • Evaluation of the results of these processes and taking appropriate actions
  • Writing and reviewing of quality documentation and development reports
  • Writing, reviewing and execution of development protocols
  • Monitoring factory processes outside working hours according to a consignee schedule
  • Calibration and maintenance of equipment
  • Training of new employees
  • Replaces higher level employees where possible
  • Management of cell banks

  • How will you get here?
  • HLO background in Life Science
  • Solid Knowledge of Fermentation and Filtration techniques
  • At least 3 years of experience in life sciences
  • Team player
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good command of English both verbal/written
  • Being able to communicate in Dutch is an advantage
  • Good coordination and planning skills
