Job Description

Job Title: Supervisor, Field Operations, North America Supply Chain

  • Manages a remote operations team
  • Hires regular & seasonal employees for all facilities
  • Trains new employees on all required standard operating procedures by Thermo Fisher Scientific, and ensures compliance with all required trainings at our strategic supply partners
  • Schedules all operations staff at facilities, vacation coverage & ensures accuracy of payroll
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship at our strategic supply partners
  • Works with our strategic supply partners on forecasting of incoming raw materials
  • Ensures all maintenance of equipment & machinery at facilities
  • Manages all inventories of supplies at facilities
  • Assists field personnel with product transportation as needed
  • Updates the Weekly Analysis Report and provide quarterly updates to Supply Chain Team
  • Coaches and identifies key employees who could be cross trained for career development opportunities within the North American Supply Chain Team
  • Travels to new collection sites to assist with their start-up as needed
  • Assists in customer & internal audits at our facilities
  • Ensures compliance for Environment, Health & Safety training of all team members or representatives of Thermo Fisher Scientific (ie. Contractors) at our remote facilities
  • Collaborates with N.A. Supply Chain & business leadership in developing budgets & annual operating plan
  • Manages projects & influences others to execute the plan through completion
  • Has business acumen to communicate & present the dynamics of our market throughout the organization
  • Performs other related duties as required and/or assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably Supply Chain, Agricultural Economics studies, Animal Science or related degree )
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic project management skill set
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Strong analytical skills (i.e. ability to develop business cases and financial models) desired
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Must have valid passport
  • Must be able to travel 20-30% of the time (at minimum) with little notice
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, ERP software)
  • Walking/Standing and lifting up to 60lbs may be required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supervising a team
  • Ability to work independently with little direction or direct supervision
  • Bi-lingual(Spanish)- ability to communicate verbally and in writing
