Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Part of the R&D team that designs highly customized, multi-million dollar microscopes and subsystems with nanometer resolution by working closely with, and learning from, world class Marketing, Project Management, Operations, suppliers, and engineers and scientists of diverse backgrounds.
    • Design complex Optomechanical assemblies.
    • Concept, layout, and detail designs with analysis and testing as appropriate.
    • Develop engineering requirements and specifications.
    • Make and meet project cost, schedule, and quality commitments.
    • Module integration, validation, and troubleshooting.
    • Provide support to manufacturing, applications and service groups
    • Create drawings, bills of materials and necessary documents needed for release to manufacturing

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and PDM systems
  • Error budgeting, tolerance analysis, materials selection, and formal problem-solving techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced technical degrees
  • Experience in semiconductor capital equipment
  • Detail design, including a strong familiarity with manufacturing techniques and capabilities, internal and external standards, GD&T, and design for manufacturability.
  • Some combination of experience with Opto-mechanical, motion, Electro-optics, vibration, thermal, and stress analysis.
