Job Description

Position Summary:
  • Serve as subject matter expert for manufacturing equipment.
  • Understand capability of equipment, and optimize utility
  • Advise Supervisor on equipment possible improvements
  • Share best practice and trains Operator I’s and II’s
  • Set up and operate production floor equipment including troubleshooting and adjustments due to mechanical issues under the direction of a Production Operator Lead or Supervisor
  • Starts, stops, and regulates speed of conveyors
  • Assists with validation of equipment
  • Reads and understands work orders to successfully set up material on line, and verify and count the amounts required as per work order.
  • Inspects material, products and containers at each set up of production process.
  • Follows Production Floor SOPs.
  • Responsible for signatures as review on SOP’s and other work instruction documents.
  • Understands and can communicate workflow and technologies used in the production environment.
  • Assists the Production Operator Lead in the assignment of jobs and directing other production operators as required by their assignment on the production line.
  • Inserts or pours product into containers or fills from spout or chute.
  • Participates in final kit assembly.
  • Obtains and sort product.
  • Wraps protective material around product.
  • Weighs containers and adjusts quantity.
  • Closes and seals containers.
  • Labels containers, container tags, or products.
  • Sorts bundles or filled containers.
  • Packs special arrangements or selections of product.
  • Inspects material, products and container configurations each set up of packaging process.
  • Completes Production Floor paperwork, including SOPs as required by the Quality System. Records information such as weight, time and date packaged.
  • Makes necessary entries in the QAD System related to material use.
  • Line Clearance – responsible to reconciliation and disposal of materials related to the job.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, machines, glassware or equipment as needed or directed.
  • Works with Production Lead, Production Operator II’s and Production Operator I’s as a team to solve Production Floor scheduling, equipment, and logistic issues.
  • Responsible for following ISO/cGMP Quality System Regulations with focus on SOP completion accuracy, product quality, and housekeeping activities.
  • Performs other assigned duties.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution and 4+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. College degree is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Ability to use manufacturing systems such as QAD and AGILE to print all required documents from QAD and Agile to complete the daily work as indicated in the production schedule
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to read and interpret as related to documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and react appropriately to changing priorities and impending deadlines.

Working Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to various temperature conditions and the company provides the necessary PPE assigned to that task.
  • The employee will be required to work near or around moving mechanical parts. PPE assessments, SOP and JSA serve to guide in providing the necessary safety protection guidelines for employees that may exposed to hazardous chemicals.
  • The noise levels in the work environment do not exceed the OSHA permissible limits however ear protection is available upon request.
  • Ability to work in room temperature to – 20 ºC.
