What you'll do

As the Manager, Onboarding and Assimilation you will design, develop and execute strategies that improve the overall onboarding management process and ensure a seamless onboarding experience and assimilation for new employees joining Thermo Fisher.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a process to assess the effectiveness of our current global onboarding practices across Thermo Fisher
  • Design, develop and execute a standard global onboarding strategy for all new Thermo Fisher employees taking into account
    • Large sites or regions with multiple new employees joining Thermo Fisher each month
    • Remote locations where new employees join in ones and twos
    • Executive onboarding and assimilation (includes ownership of Thermo Fisher’s E Band Ambassador Program)
    • Associate onboarding
  • Actively manage and continuously improve the global online onboarding website and curriculum
  • Develop a playbook for onboarding and assimilating colleagues from new companies acquired by Thermo Fisher
  • Develop and execute strategies to support Managers in their role of helping new employees quickly assimilate into the company and become productive faster
  • Prioritize and advocate for LMS/Onboarding tool enhancements in order to eliminate manual processes/work and drive efficiencies of the team
  • Monitor new hire turnover and retention rates and establish standardized program reporting to deliver insights on the effectiveness of our onboarding program

How you'll get here

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in either L&D, Onboarding or HR
  • Ability to actively participate as a member of a leadership team
  • Ability to collaborate across the organization and ability to impact and influence partners to achieve results
  • Experience with PPI or other process improvement methodologies;
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully execute on and manage a number of different priorities
  • Project management skills and leading cross-functional teams to make an impact and deliver work on time.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Able to work in a team environment as well as independently, with minimal supervision
