Job Description

Manufacturing Technician - Primers
15 Month Fixed Term contract
Inchinnan, Paisley


This position will support the product release to ensure we are in compliance for our 13485 accreditation. All batch records are to be checked to ensure that these are filled out properly before the Primer orders are passed to packing. The job also will check incoming raw materials . This ensure that all products are labelled before used within the manufacturing process.

There will also be the opportunity to support the planning of the plates for the AB product lines. This is a very varied role that will work shifts. The candidate will have to be flexible.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operating semi-automated and automated lab equipment
  • Following established protocols, SOP’s and work instructions, scheduled tasks and activities independently
  • Perform in-process testing to assure batches meet specification
  • Troubleshooting of processes, procedures and product issues
  • Balance multiple tasks and prioritize critical tasks
  • Manage and implement preventative and corrective actions
  • Update various Production/QC reports and spreadsheets
  • Update standard operating procedures and work instructions for processes
  • Drive cost improvement initiatives by reducing failures, improving capacity and using supplies wisely
  • Reduce work in process, queues and cycle times
  • Follow all health and safety measures in place, participate in EHS initiatives and ensure team do the same
  • Collaborate, support and consult with other team members as necessary
  • Frequent interaction with customers
Essential Experience:
  • Degree within biology, chemistry, or another relevant field
  • Previous laboratory or manufacturing experience
  • Exposure to working in an ISO regulated environment, specifically ISO9001 or ISO13485
  • Understanding of safe working practice in a laboratory environment.
  • Experience working with chemicals and hazardous materials
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in using Microsoft packages and order systems
