Fabienne Pierrot

Fabienne has been growing with Thermo Fisher for 24 years! She began as a Controller at Finnegan France. Her career path has includes taking charge of the Finance organizations after mergers and acquisitions including implementation of new ERPs, creation of a shared services supporting 18 entities in France and then harmonizing the Finance team in Europe while supporting the implementation of SAP for Europe. “I then moved to a division that had just put in place a new ERP for Europe and needed harmonization of the Accounting teams.” She credits Stephen Williamson who twice in her career proposed key challenges in her career growth.

Employee growth and development, facing tough challenges without fear, and setting a positive example for her team.

Analyze the different stakeholders POV to have better impact/influence on them. To help with this, before any challenging discussion, have a board of the different stakeholders and assess their views. Develop her network. “I am too much in the silo of Finance and force myself to develop my network within the other streams”. Her key to success, “participate in meetings with different functions and invite the other functions to our Finance meetings.”

"Having less time with her family. “Although I feel very well organized, I have never been as present as some other mothers, but I try to compensate as much as I can over the weekends and never miss birthdays!”

"Be well organized and make sure that you are supported by your family in your day to day work. Don’t be afraid of moving, changing – children take less time than you to get used to their new life. Go abroad, it will open your mind and make you see other viewpoints."
