International Women's Day
Thermo Fisher Scientific celebrates our women in leadership.
Kim has been growing with Thermo Fisher for 30 years this coming June! She was hired initially as a Customer Service representative. “My career path has primarily been marketing and sales jobs. Getting involved in larger company projects, using my network within Thermo Fisher, and most importantly a passion to support our customers have been instrumental in my advancement.”
“Integrity, honesty, passion and caring not only about the business but the people behind it.”
“I have had many roles over the course of my career here. The biggest challenge has been adapting my style for the different teams I was managing along with the needs of the business. Different teams need different types of leadership. My biggest tool has always been watching and learning from others. Persuasion and negotiation have also been things I needed to work on. I have done some in depth reading on these traits.”
“It's been less about sacrifice and more about leaning to balance priorities both at work and in my personal life. Being a strong leader is extremely important to me and I feel that for success I need to continuously learn, adapt and evolve.”
“Lead by example and always have humility. There is a huge difference between being a boss and being a leader.”
