I manage a sales team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. What I really do, though, is work so that people in rural areas of China have good-quality drinking water. Our team won the business to provide systems that detect harmful impurities in water pipelines. These advancements verify good drinking water quality, helping protect millions of people from polluted sources that can cause serious health problems like methemoglobinemia, also known as “blue baby syndrome.”
In the past, our products have been used to test drinking water quality in a water plant. Now, with our pipeline monitor, we’re able to provide healthier and safer drinking water to many more people. With over 640 million people living in rural China, we have the opportunity to make a huge impact. As a sales professional, it’s rewarding to know that by serving my customer, I am making such a big difference in so many people’s lives.
