What made you choose Thermo Fisher Scientific for an internship?
I studied at the Corvinus University of Budapest in the faculty of Business Administration and Management. I was looking for an opportunity to work with purpose and to make an impact, and was drawn to Thermo Fisher's Mission - to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. I applied to the opening and joined Thermo Fisher as an HR trainee in 2019 to complete my last semester and my internship program at the university.
After half a year, I got the opportunity to continue my career in the Finance Team, so I became an Accounts Payable Representative.
What were some of your tasks as an Accounts Payable Representative?
Our AP Team is responsible for managing (3rd party) vendor invoices: receiving, processing, and posting invoices for payment as soon as possible. We manage many European entities (e.g. German, Dutch, French, Swiss, Italian) and constantly coordinate and partner with local offices and colleagues to complete daily tasks and solve cases more efficiently.
After 1 year, I participated in a big project when our team moved to a new entity from Germany - this was one of my favorite periods since I learned a lot and could acquire a wider knowledge in this financial area.
