“The Product Engineering Leadership Development Program stood out to me because it gives recent college graduates a chance to network within Thermo Fisher and improve their technical skills within Research and Development teams at different locations across the country. Most grads usually don’t have the opportunity to experience different roles in the company over a 2-year period while working on independent projects. I knew that the PELDP program was for me because I was heavily involved in research at my alma mater, The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and knew that I wanted to continue researching valuable topics that would help people and change the world. The PELDP program gives me the chance to move around within the company and learn our businesses, gain mentorship from senior leaders, and increase my knowledge and understanding of different functions within the company.”
Kalen, current PELDP, University of Tennessee
”After interning at Thermo Fisher Scientific, I was excited to rejoin the company in a full-time role, but did not yet know which technical field I wanted to work in. As the leader in serving in science, Thermo Fisher Scientific has a wide-spread technical portfolio, and the PELDP has allowed me to explore this through multiple company divisions, technologies, and roles.  During the program, I have had the opportunity to network across multiple sites and functions, lead high visibility projects, and receive mentorship from Senior Leaders within the company.  By rotating through different sites, I’ve gained a better understanding of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s technologies and learned the technical skills to support innovation within the company.  I have found that my colleagues truly care about my career progression and have given me all the support I need to succeed in my roles.  Being part of this program has also given me a network of like-minded peers in the leadership development program to learn and grow with.”
Kei, previous intern and current PELDP, Santa Clara University
