“After graduating with my Supply Chain undergraduate degree, I knew I wanted to go into Life Sciences and work for a company where I could grow and develop my career. The Procurement Leadership Development Program at Thermo Fisher Scientific has done just that. It is unique in that it provides you with exposure to two different sites across the country and four different roles across the procurement. I have had roles in both California and Massachusetts, in areas such as indirect category management, project management, and site purchasing. The colleagues at Thermo Fisher are supportive and always willing to share their knowledge. I often find myself applying the learnings from my rotations to the day-to-day work of my off-program role. The LDP truly jump starts your career in a unique way!”
Michaela, PLDP alumna, Bentley University
“Throughout the search for a post-grad role, I sought to join a global company whose mission was to better the world in some sort of way. Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer immediately stood out to me. I visited their booth during our school career fair and learned about the opportunities, in specific the Procurement Leadership Development Program. As a new grad with a supply chain degree, there were infinite career paths to choose. The rotational program provided an opportunity to experience 4 very different roles in two years. As an LDP, you are placed in high impact projects and have direct visibility with leadership. The support network is unmatched and I was given the creative freedom to drive my own projects. Also, the idea of rotating across various teams and sites was interesting to me. I spent a year exploring the Greater Boston area then moved to sunny San Diego, which is where I am based today. Upon completing the program, I accepted the role of Supplier Risk Manager for our Global Procurement function. I now manage supplier risk initiatives and work with cross-functional teams on a daily basis. Like many others, my LDP journey has been a great experience and helped accelerate my career path. Joining the program was the best decision I made and I encourage all students to check it out!”
Ingrid, PLDP alumna, Arizona State University
