One of the most rewarding parts of working at Marietta is being surrounded by people whose knowledge, experience, and work ethic constantly push me to grow. There are many days where I look around the room and feel fortunate just to be learning from the caliber of people we have here. That kind of environment challenges you to become better every day. I also think our culture speaks for itself through the number of employees who have built entire careers here, with many team members having 30, 40, or even 50 years at the site, which says a lot about the pride, commitment, and sense of purpose people feel being part of Marietta.

Since starting at Thermo Fisher I have been able to work in several locations/cells to develop and learn new skills as well as proficiencies that helped me grow.  I have been given the opportunities to try new things and travel to relocate new lines to the Marietta Location. As part of my IDP (Individual Development Plan) I got to train as Flow Tech and got to expand other resources that were available to me. As an employee for 6 years, I have been able to acquire many new capabilities and competencies to grow. Here, at Thermo Fisher, the possibilities to evolve seem to be endless.

The moment that made me proud to work here was when this site was recognized for “Industry Week Best Plants.”  I was one of others to accept award in Nashville, Tennessee. That accomplishment put the Marietta site of LED on the map.

What I enjoy most about working at Marietta is the strong sense of teamwork, pride, and family across the site. This place has always been meaningful to me because it has always put food on the table and clothes on my back while both of my parents worked here and now me. One moment that made me especially proud to work here was when our team expedited an order needed so cancer patients could receive treatments as soon as possible—we completed it within 24 hours, and I met the customer at the door with the order. I started working on the factory floor as an assembler and have grown to a production manager through many opportunities over the years, which shows that when you apply yourself, this company will help you build your career.
