Position Summary:

As a Lead Subject Matter Expert (SME) Credit and Collections Representative, your primary responsibility will be to provide expertise and guidance in credit and collections processes to ensure efficient operations and optimal portfolio management. You will play a key role in various aspects of the function, including participating in new transitions for process mapping, operations design and setup, and portfolio clean-up. Your in-depth knowledge and experience in this field will be crucial in driving improvements and achieving organizational goals.

The role would suit a candidate with excellent rapport building ability, strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability and passion to achieve critical metrics. An SME level knowledge of both Credit and Collections processes are essential in order to grasp the complexity of the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the entire credit management and collections process on complex accounts or account groups, by analyzing data, identifying delinquent accounts, and implementing strategies to minimize risk and improve collection performance.
  • Lead and partner on all related process and system implementation required for the activation of future state process related to Accounts Receivable.
  • Actively participate in new migrations by mapping out processes, identifying gaps, and recommending improvements for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement credit and collections operations, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes. Provide subject matter expertise to guide the setup of efficient workflows and procedures.
  • Regularly analyze data to identify trends, areas of improvement, and potential risks of operations against key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with key internal partners in the region such as finance, sales, and customer service teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the knowledge and skills within the department. Stay updated with industry standard processes and regulations to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Consistently meet assigned targets and fulfil Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Ensure the performance of all tasks is carried out in accordance with company policies, internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Additional tasks include:
    • Assist with the company’s e-invoicing process, if relevant.
    • Train and mentor new employees joining the Order-to-Cash department.
    • Drive the culture of continuous process improvement within the team.
    • Collaborate with GPO and serve as a key subject matter expert for all EMEA OtC processes.
    • Participate actively to projects – including department or cross-functional projects.
    • Be the primary point of contact within the department for colleagues and management seeking assistance with operational inquiries.
    • Coordinate with both Internal and External Audit teams to facilitate testing procedures.
    • Act as backup or escalation point for the Line Manager as required.
    • Other additional duties or tasks may be assigned periodically by the Line Manager.

Strong organisational and time management skills to ensure prioritisation and timely completion of tasks and efficiency in handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs and priorities.

Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to train, mentor, and guide team members.

Good understanding of the process improvement methodology.

SME level working knowledge of relevant accounting systems, policies and procedures and proven expertise in credit & collections processes.

  • Qualifications and experience:

Fluent in English and if specified, another European language is required.

University or College degree / degree in accounting or finance is an advantage.

Certification as a Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Rapid Responder is desirable.

Extensive experience (5+ years) in credit and collections, with a clear understanding of industry best practices and regulations.

Expert system knowledge of any existing ERPs (SAP, Oracle E1) and software programs (Cforia) is essential to perform this role effectively and efficiently.

Excellent digital literacy and knowledge of the Microsoft Office software is required (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
