Allschwil / Basel – Clinical Trials Division (CTD)
Located in the heart of Europe’s life sciences hub, our sites in Basel and Allschwil offer an exceptional environment for innovation, collaboration, and quality of life. Together, our Basel and Allschwil sites form a vibrant workplace with state-of-the-art facilities, close-knit teams, open communication, and easy access to a global network of science, innovation, and culture.

The Allschwil site near Basel is a leading European center of the Clinical Trials Division. It provides comprehensive clinical supply chain solutions for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

Key activities include:
  • Precise, risk-controlled packaging and labeling of clinical materials
  • Coordinate global distribution, transportation, and logistics—including cold and ultracold supply chains
  • Manage end-to-end clinical supply chain activities, including warehousing and inventory control
  • Ensure quality assurance and regulatory compliance
  • Support technology-enabled demand planning to forecast needs and maintain study continuity 
  • Source and procure comparator products, medical devices, and ancillary materials through global supplier networks

  • Provide expert logistics to optimize readiness 



Allschwil is closely integrated into Thermo Fisher’s global network and plays a key role in supporting international clinical research projects. 

Lausanne – Chemical Analysis Division

Lengnau – Drug Substance Division / Biologics

The Lengnau site, located in the canton of Bern, is part of the Drug Substance Division within Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Pharma Services Group. It is a multipurpose biomanufacturing facility leveraging highly flexible bioproduction technologies, including stainless steel bioreactor capabilities. This enables a seamless pathway from development through to large-scale commercial production.
